Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything. With the holidays and my birthday in between, it's made it hard for me to write anything. But now I sit here at work...8:30 in the morning...typing away. I guess I felt like with all the crazy stuff that has happened and will happen this week, I'd have something to write about!
Saturday morning I was awoken, well sort of, with a phone call from my dear ol' dad. He asked if I had heard about Fernley? To make a long story short, Fernley is my hometown, and on Saturday morning a chunk of the side of the canal that runs through the south side of town breached. Water flooded nearly 800 homes. This picture is sort of the view my mom has from her balcony, so needless to say she wasn't affected. The good thing about this giant mess, is they are getting lot's of help. The bad, thousands of people have lost just about everything! The reason the canal breached, is still unsure, but they believe burrowing rodents and the large amounts of rain the west coast received could have been a major factor! My prayers go out to each and everyone of those that were affected.
On the upside, even though I probably shouldn't post this in the same blog, I'm going to Florida tomorrow! My mom and stepdad are taking my sis her boy and Trent and I! I can't wait. Warm weather and fun times await us!!!!!!!! I'll take plenty of pictures and show you when we get back!
Ciau!!!!
